Dreams & Goals
These are a few things that get me fired up about my life....
This is an older picture of my family from around 8 years ago. To me, I'm one of the luckiest guys in the world to have them in my life. They are becoming more and more of not only who I'm all about, but why I do the things that I do. I do not know where I'd be without them.
These two places absolutely changed my life!! The people that came into my life from my high school - Detroit Catholic Central and my college - Central Michigan University -- I would not be where I am today without these two places. I try to never forget both places along with realizing that I need to do things to make both of those institutions proud of who I am & who I become! I will never be able to repay both places as to what they did for me.
These are just two of so many moments that I'm so blessed to have been a part of. I started coaching girls basketball around 1982 with my Dad. I love being around the game. So many incredible people that have come into my life from basketball. There are times again, that I feel like one of the luckiest guys in the world. I will continue to be around girls basketball - the teaching, motivating & coaching of the game - probably for the rest of my life.
In 2017 I got the guts up to start my own podcast after so many people kept encouraging me to get my messages, thoughts, ideas, etc., out there - some of those encouragers were former students. This adventure has changed my life in so many ways that I never saw coming. All I know is that I need to keep doing it & to keep growing from it.
The joy of reading has always been a part of my life since I was young - reading my Hardy Boy Mystery books, Basketbally Coaching books, and then when I found this gem - it changed my life!! Books are a major part of my life in me getting better. This is a HUGE recommendation from me to you - it should be on your MUST READ list. This lit a spark in me that I need to keep lit.
Talk about a difference maker in my life!! I never got the chance to meet Coach John Wooden, but I sure do admire him for what he has done for so many people and not just the game of basketball. This is a guy that is worth studying what his life was all about along with the lessons that he shared with the world.
This is probably one of the best places on earth that my wife and I love going to. We have been going up there just about every year for 30 or so years - even longer for her and her family. This is a place that I would love to spend more time at after I retire.
